About

Steve Coulter is a West Sussex based, lifetime art and popular music enthusiast.

“The grandson of Eric Buxton-Parrott, a renowned post-war fine art printer and serigrapher, Steve has been surrounded by interesting art and prints all of his life. With a modest collection of artwork by contemporary printers and inherited impressionist art pieces, philosophy, influences and inspiration come from the like of mid-century US pop artists, Andy Warhol and Robert Rauschenberg, as well as British contemporary artists Bridget Riley, Gilbert & George and Tracey Emin.

The two worlds of art and music collide with ‘Art of Pop’, digitally enhanced images, maxi sized to the limit of fine art giclée printers. These colourful prints are all about the possessive scribbles, patina, tears and creases from a life of their own, as much as the punchy colours and signature designs employed by commercial artists of the Sixties and Seventies. Each vinyl record was supplied in its own mass produced paper sleeve of disposable artwork in zeitgeist colours.”
